The word ‘Sassenach’ is derived from the Scottish Gaelic word ‘Sasunnach’, literally meaning 'Saxon', and was originally used by Highland Gaelic speakers to refer to non-Gaelic speaking Scottish Lowlanders. It then evolved into its more common usage, meaning an English person, or someone from England. It is featured beautifully on this necklace with a small curve in the lettering.
Crafted entirely of 925 sterling silver, this piece is dispatched to us directly from the heart of Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile near the Old Canongate Tollbooth and the Canongate Kirk. Both of these locations are featured in the Outlander books.
